Koyoharu Gotouge’s 23-volume manga series Demon Slayer ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2016 to 2020. Ufotable has turned the series into an animation. There have only been two seasons so far, with a movie in between.
In the most recent season, which ran from October 2021 to February 2022, Tanjiro Kamado and his allies support Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira, as he battles Gyutaro and Daki, Upper-Rank Six demons, to defeat them. Many significant narrative points that will have an impact on the rest of the series are introduced in the “Entertainment District” arc.
Tanjiro has gained more knowledge about his sister Nezuko and his fighting style. The Demon Slayers must face the consequences of their actions and how they will affect them in the future. The second season’s fallout will be a major focus of the “Swordsmith Village” plotline.
Tengen Uzui recruits Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke at the start of the second season. Tanjiro has no trouble finding work, but Tengen struggles until he eventually manages to locate someone willing to hire Zenitsu and Inosuke.
The guys can then go about the region to see if they can locate Tengen’s wives or where the demon might be hiding. They learn a great deal more about themselves and the demons as a result of their discoveries. A well-known courtesan named Daki is recognized by the Demon Slayers as one of the 12 Kizuki.
Tanjiro finds it difficult to battle her alone, but with Nezuko and Tengen’s assistance, they can weaken her. However, when Daki breaks in two, it becomes clear that she and her brother, Gyutaro, were fused, making matters considerably worse for them. The two brothers and sisters are each Upper Six Demons.
The Demon Slayers had never encountered demons quite like these before this incident. Tengen, Tanjiro, and their comrades face a formidable obstacle in this battle because the two demons share the same location and must be beheaded simultaneously to be killed. Tanjiro is not the only individual who goes beyond their comfort zone.
Tanjiro’s demon sister Nezuko puts a lot of effort into helping her brother. Nezuko is fighting her devil’s side while trying to protect him. She can regenerate as quickly as an Upper-Rank Demon and is stronger than before. Both sides’ numbers have fallen as a result of the conflicts in Demon Slayer.
The Demon Slayer Corps has lost a lot of members in combat. The Corps is down two Hashira members as a result of the passing of Kyojuro Rengoku and Tengen Uzui’s retirement. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Nezuko, and other characters get the chance to develop throughout the “Entertainment District” storyline.
Tanjiro and his friends can advance their objectives and aid the other Demon Slayers when facing challenging demons by having the opportunity to learn more about the monsters they are battling. There is still plenty to come, but the cast has already seen how much of a difference the second season has made.
