Knowing that this will be her final opportunity and that Karasuma is soon going for America, Tenma (the main character) finally decides to tell him how she feels.
As Tenma begs him to allow her and Karasuma some alone time, Harima stays away in the meantime.
Even though he has never expressed his love for Tenma, Harima interprets this as rejection.
After turning down Tenma’s love, Karasuma departs. When Harima sees how distraught Tenma is, he tracks Karasuma down and throws him an attack.
Karasuma acknowledges his affection for Tenma and says he wants her to be happy as a result. He had an illness that was gradually erasing his memory, so she couldn’t be happy with him.
