With her wild introduction, Chainsaw Man’s Power has swiftly emerged as one of the most adored characters in the series. She effectively smashes the stereotype of female shonen protagonists by trying to be as vulgar, unclean, and unlikeable as she can. Without Power, it would be hard to envision Chainsaw Man’s core group.
There isn’t another character in the plot quite like her, which is a lot for an anime full of eccentric heroes with typically troublesome personalities. Being a blood fiend, Power is a devil who has taken control of a dead person.
Every demon in Chainsaw Man has distinguishing physical characteristics, such as Denji’s chest pull-string or Beam’s shark-like features on his head. Design-wise, Power’s horns are a little too obvious considering how frequently pop culture references devils with plain red horns. She has horns for a functional reason in the story, in addition to being Tatsuki Fujimoto’s design decision.
Power gains strength by ingesting more blood, just like all devils and fiends in Chainsaw Man. She regenerates more quickly than other devils who drink blood when they are wounded since she is a Blood Fiend. Moreover, Blood makes Power stronger than other devils. When she overdoes it on the drinking, a simple punch might be catastrophic.
Power is essentially anaemic and unable to continue fighting if she runs out of blood in the middle of a combat. If Power drinks the blood of a stronger devil, such as the Chainsaw Devil, her Blood Manipulation skills will likewise get stronger.
After that, Power was able to launch her biggest attack while retaining her resistance to Makima’s potent dominance abilities. Drinking copious amounts of blood not only makes Power stronger but also causes her horns to grow out. In Chainsaw Man, Power’s horns are more than just a fashionable accessory; they also serve as a gauge for how much blood she has devoured.
The ones on top of her head get bigger and more pronouncedly curved if she gets too far. She will even grow two thick, bull-like horns from either side of her head if she consumes enough. Only by draining out all the extra blood—which is typically accomplished by having another devil like Denji drink her blood—can Power get rid of these huge horns.
Although Chainsaw Man is filled with intricate and captivating designs, many odd modifications to a character’s appearance really have a useful function in the plot. Without tugging the cord on his chest, Denji is unable to activate his Chainsaw Devil abilities.
In addition to being hauntingly fashionable, Makima’s eyes also serve as a symbol of her seductive nature and abilities. Power’s horns are more than just an obvious reference to the devil in popular culture; they also show how much blood she’s just consumed.
