We all have wondered that if we had a superpower what would it be? Always a fascinating question to ponder upon!
Also, I am pretty sure that every My Hero Academia fan has fantasized about being in the U.A. All of us have felt that adrenaline rush looking at Midoriya’s passion and excitement to go to U.A in the starting episodes.
Ultimately every teenager in Japan wants to go to U.A.
U.A high school is the top hero school all over Japan in My Hero Academia. Some of the best heroes of the country have come from the U.A school and still incredibly talented students are being fostered in the school.
It has a full-fledged package of all the quirks, from Todoroki’s fire and ice to Fumikage’s strange Dark Shadow quirk. This being said, ranking the quirks is not an easy task but here we are with a list of the Best U.A Quirk In My Hero Academia. Dive in!
25. Beast
I don’t think it is difficult to imagine what this quirk does. The ‘Beast’ quirk enables Shishida to transform in a huge furry beast-human hybrid. Turning into a beast gives him heightened senses, immense physical power, and resilience.
Due to the strength that comes from this quirk, Shishida overwhelmed Class A during the training sessions and also helped him stand against Kaminari’s electrification. The abilities that come from this quirk can be enhanced by combining proper martial art techniques.
24. Razor Sharp
This is an interesting one. Kamakiri has the quirk to shoot blades of different sizes and types from almost all body parts. This quirk makes him a live blade machine that is ready to slice anything and everything as an opponent in front of him.
The bonus with this quirk is that Kamakiri is a dexterous swordsman. Although, he is still exposed to large-scale or long-range attacks like Todoroki and Bakugo’s.
23. Comic
Manga has this incredible ability to invent echoic words out of nowhere. Plus, they can create superpowers out of the sounds of those. Cool, right? For example, a “Boom” will result in an explosion.
This quirk is an immensely beneficial one that can be used for attack or defense. There is one instance where during the joint training enabled him to attack Class A and enhance his teammate.
22. Engine
Tenya is the ace student of Class A and we always see his improving himself. His quirk is the engine-like power embedded in his calves which enables him to run quicker than lighting, gives him unimaginable strength and power. The coolest part of the quirk is that as fuel he has to drink Juice!
There are scenes where we can see Tenya putting in loads of hard work in improving his quirk.
21. Steel
Tetsutetsu’s quirk is the one that can turn him into unbreakable steel that can bear extreme levels of temperature. With the help of this quirk, he was able to stand before Todoroki’s flames attack to such a level that Todoroki himself fainted. The durability of the quirk is like real steel and depends upon the intake of iron.
20. Hardening
Kirishima possesses the quirk of hardening or getting tougher as the damages increase. This is shown while he fights against Rappa in the Shie Hassaikai Arc. Kirishima’s body is unbelievably resilient to any kind of attack. The quirk also gives his body the ability to turn sharp and rough as a defense shield.
19. Twin Impact
Nirengeki Shoda has the most unique quirk in this list. Though he almost went unnoticed in Match five, but his quirk allows him to double the attack of the opponent. This means that the user’s attack is repeated and doubled by him to use and cause more damage.
Shoda’s quirk is strongest in the condition where other quirk combinations are used. He can use his quirk to enrich his own attacks and his team mates attacks.
18. Zero Gravity
One of the best hero names in the series- Gravity! The name is a combination of Ochaco’s name and his quirk. The quirk is that anything Ochaco touches with her finger looses all its weight. Everything becomes weightless and starts to float. Her quirk works against the force of gravity and it can also cause releasing of any object if she touches it with all her fingers.
Ochaco’s quirk can be the most destructive in a place where there are lots of loose objects like, rocks, tree barks etc. Loose objects can be used to crush the opponent immediately. Also, she can disable her opponent by making them float. Imagine, your opponent is just going to attack and boom! You touch them and they start floating.
17. Black
Kuroiro’s quirk comes into notice very late in Chapter 199, similar to many other Class B students. Kuroiro has the quirk that can combine dark-colored objects like shadows and then he can also move them. If his power is the dark, of course his weakness is light that forces him out of the dark. Aoyama and Hagakure knew his weakness and exploited it to the best and we see this when they corner him easily during the joint training.
16. Copy
Monoma’s quirk is what the name suggests, she can copy others’ quirk for a short span of time by touching them. ‘Copy’ is one of the most powerful quirks in the list as it has the ability to counter every quirk by copying it.
Since the Sports Festival, Monoma acquired the ability to copy multiple quirks and hold them for a longer time than before. The only drawback is that she cannot hold the quirks which gather power overtime.
15. Creation
Yaoyorozu’s quirk is something out of the box. She has the power to create anything, literally anything except living things. But this is limited till the time she knows the object’s atomic structure. This quirk makes her a versatile person and offers her an immense amount of creative liberty.
The fuel of this quirk is lipids, so the number and size of the creation is limited. Each creation takes time to be made and this tests Yaoyorozu’s decision-making and knowing the atomic structure of so many objects indicates that Yaoyorozu is an intelligent girl.
14. Softening
‘Softening’ is a quirk that enables Honenuki to turn anything into a semi-liquid state as he touches it but only non-living things. But with just a second touch he can reverse the effect.
Although Honenuki’s quirk didn’t leave a mark in the Sports Festival, it surely changed the narrative in the Joint Training Arc. He was able to transform
Todoroki’s ice and trap Class A with it easily. The only weakness of this quirk is that the objects revert back into their original form if Honenuki loses focus.
13. Electrification
Kaminari’s quirk gives him the ability to release and absorb electricity. He can electrocute anyone close to him to the point of causing paralysis. But the only drawback is that he isn’t able to charge the electricity in one direction until recently and also high voltage causes frying in his brain. Also this quirk does not work against insulators like ice and vines.
12. Brainwashing
Shinso is not a part of any hero course and does not have any training like Class 1 A and B, but still he was able to give a tough fight to Midoriya in the Sports Festival. Shinso’s unique quirk helps him to brainwash anyone into following his orders. He just has to make the other person reply to something he says while he is concentrating on brainwashing them.
11. Invisibility
We all have once in our life wanted this quirk. Hagakure has the quirk of invisibility which is perfect for spying and stealth all through the series. The quirk works by manipulating light.
Hagakure’s quirk also allows him to manipulate light in such a way that he can blind others.
10. Dark Shadow
Tokoyami has the most mysterious quirk in the whole U.A. His quirk is called the ‘Dark Shadow’ and gives him the ability to summon shadowy figures from his body. No one really understands Dark Shadow but it is a pretty strong and offensive power.
Tokoyami has also learnt to fly using the Dark Shadow after he interned with Hawks.
9. Erasure
Keeping All For One aside, Aizawa is probably the only person who can manipulate quirks. ‘Ensure’ gives Aizawa the ability to disable another person’s quirk by just one look. But this works only till the time he does not blink.
As Aizawa has dry eyes, using the quirk becomes difficult and it is also useless against mutant-type quirks for example Invisibility or Engine.
8. Wave Motion
Hado has the quirk of turning her life energy into waves. The waves can take shapes like spirals and reduce the speed and force of the opponent’s attacks.
Hado has amazing long-range attacks and the only weakness is that the quirk is limited to the energy reserved inside the user.
7. Vines
Shiozaki proved himself to be the best in Class B by defeating Kaminari in the Sports Festival without much effort. Her quirk enables her to transform her hair into thorny vines. It is a well-rounded quirk as it can be used as a defense or attack mechanism.
The only fall back of her work is that if the wines are cut off completely she goes bald. To grow the wines back she needs some time water and sunlight, similar to regular plants. Work work can be even more powerful if she had a little mental strength.
6. Permeation
It may seem that Mirio’s quirk isn’t that useful in terms of offense, but through lots of training he now knows how to exactly use his power. Mirio’s quirk helps him pass through any state of matter. He can transform his whole body or parts of his body untouchable.
Mirio has the weakness that he cannot breath while activating his quirk. Since the user is left with no mass the air passes right through. This makes it almost impossible to use the quirk for a longer period of time.
5. Explosion
Bakugo is the controversial top student of class 1A on the basis of power, of course the exception being Midoriya. Bakugo can cause explosions with his palms and sweat is his fuel. The quirk results in the secretion of a special nitroglycerin sweat that is flamed during the explosion. It’s like, more the sweat, more the damage.
Bakugo’s only weakness is the cold weather that causes less sweat and hinders his power. To fix this he has to wear warm clothes.
4. Manifest
Amajiki’s quirk is fun and something none of us has ever seen before. He can demonstrate the qualities of the food he eats. He can also display traits from numerous foods together. The combinations and possibilities are endless.
The only small weakness is that the traits of the food can be manifested only till the time that food is in his system.
3. Half-Cold Half-Hot
Todoroki’s quirk may sound reserved but has great potential and increases with his hunger. He can create flames and warmth from the left side of his body and ice and chills from the right side.
But the thing is that he cannot use one element at a time for a long time. He has to switch between attacks to prevent himself from freezing or overheating.
Ever since he took the training in the forest , he has improved at using both elements together.
2. Rewind
Eri’s quirk is special and unique. She can rewind every living thing to a previous state. This quirk can be used to heal injuries, undo evolution or even vanish a complete event or opponent.
To use the quirk, Eri needs to be in physical contact with the target. Since the time she was rescued from Overhaul, she has been training under the U.A.
1. One For All
Midoriya is the possessor of the strongest quirk in the whole U.A. ‘One For All’ is the quirk that gives Midoriya inhumane physical strength, speed, and tolerance just like All Might. However, this quirk came from the awakening of the previous user, Midoriya’s capabilities are extremely stronger than All Might.
This quirk is the only transferable quirk in the whole My Hero Academia. It can also beat All for One.
