We’ve been treated to some of the twistiest, craziest scenes in recent manga history thanks to Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man. The series is well-known for its bloody violence, which many believe peaked when Denji devoured Makima after Part 1. Fans have expressed their opinions loudly in response to chapter 96’s panels, and questions about the act have also grown. Chainsaw Man devotees no longer find it startling when horrific things happen or gore is gratuitous. Images of devils devouring other beings are included. One of the most important of the aforementioned acts is included in the penultimate chapter of Chainsaw Man Part 1. Denji not only beats Makima in their rematch in the field of graves but also finishes the fight by eating her. Why then did this act occur? It turns out that Denji ate her to stop her from regenerating because Devils are capable of doing so even after being murdered. Makima tended to undervalue Denji and was fixated on the Chainsaw monster within him. Due to her obsession with Pochita, she let her guard down, allowing the real Denji to defeat her by using a chainsaw he manufactured from the blood contract he had made with Power.

Makima was fighting Pochita the entire time, tearing him apart in a battle with the fictitious “Denji” to gain access to Pochita. Denji is seen eating her in his residence after carrying her remains with him. It’s almost poetic how the person she had ignored for the longest time ended up being the thing that eventually defeated her. Denji rejected her request to merge with the Chainsaw Devil and compelled her to become a part of himself. After defeating Makima, he spoke with Kishibe and admitted that he had eaten Makima whole because doing so not only guaranteed her death but also united her with Denji. He had always known that the Chainsaw Man was the only reason Makima had ever shown any interest in him. As Makima could only detect individuals by their smell and not their faces, he was able to approach her and strike her without her noticing him.

Despite knowing this, Denji still had a perverse affection for her. The manga’s second installment premiered in July 2022 and is still going strong. Fans are confident that we won’t be seeing any more of Makima because it seems highly unlikely that she will return to the story. We must keep in mind that the series is wacky enough to rule out that idea as impossible, even though the trick Denji performed at the end of Part 1 officially eliminates any potential of her making a comeback. She will undoubtedly be brought back if mangaka Fujimoto Tatsuki wants to. The first season of the Chainsaw Man anime, which adapted the first 38 chapters of the manga, ended on December 28, 2022, and is presently on hiatus.
