The Japanese anime television series X, sometimes referred to as X TV, is based on the manga series of the same name by Clamp.

Madhouse produced it, and Yoshiaki Kawajiri was the director. It was shown on WOWOW in Japan. The narrative takes place in 1999, at the end of the world.

It centers on Kamui Shiro, a young esper who, after a six-year sabbatical, returns to Tokyo to confront his fate as the one who will decide the future of mankind.

There, he finds another individual with Kamui’s gift and two organizations that wish to adopt him.

Hiroko Tokita, Yuki Enatsu, Kenji Sugihara, and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handled the script.

Alongside Yuji Ikeda, Koshinori Kanemori handled art direction duties and modified Clamp’s character designs.

Naoki Satō wrote the series’ music, which has two official soundtracks released.

The TV show has two theme songs: “Secret Sorrow” by Kohei Koizumi serves as the finale theme, while “eX Dream” by Masatoshi Nishimura (billed as “Myuji”) serves as the opening theme.
