Ikuto Yamashita, Shirō Sagisu, and Yoshiyuki Sadamoto made a comeback to provide mechanical designs, music, and character designs, respectively.
With a whole new ending in the fourth and final picture, the film has new sequences, locales, and characters in addition to some 3D computer-generated animation and digital ink and paint.
Making the series more approachable for non-fans than the original anime films and series was another of the show’s declared goals. The first episode of the Rebuild of Evangelion introduces Mari Maki, a new EVA pilot who complicates the dynamic already in place.
